How Does RF Microneedling Work?

The Dermaforce handpiece delivers the controlled insertion of fine, sterile, insulated, gold-plated needles, precisely into the skin using a gentle vacuum suction for even penetration while simultaneously emitting Bi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF) at 1Mhz from the electrodes at the end point of the needles, heating the targeted tissue to 55°c – 65°c. This controlled thermal damage safely and effectively stimulates fibroblast activity within the dermis resulting in an increase of collagen and elastin production. Helping to retexturise and smooth the surface of the skin whilst rebuilding and strengthening the existing inner connective fibres, improving dermal volume and reducing the signs of ageing skin & damaged tissue.

Is this treatment painful?

You will feel the vacuum suction and the insertion of the fine needles into the skin, there can be a slight discomfort but the treatment is not painful so numbing cream is unnecessary as it can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. A hydro-calming vitamin complex and a cooling mask will be applied immediately after the treatment to produce a calming sensation on the skin and infuse the skin with deep hydration.

How do I prepare for the treatment?

You should stop all skin care products containing active ingredients a minimum of 3 days prior to the treatment and discontinue use for 3-5 days after.

What should I do after the treatment?

Drink plenty of water to keep the skin well hydrated. Avoid direct UV exposure for 2 weeks and introduce a sunscreen (minimum SPF 30) into your daily skin care routine. Avoid picking the skin and allowing pets or children to touch your skin directly after the treatment. Use clean bedding and towels and avoid activities such as Swimming, Saunas, Steam rooms, hot tubs or attending the gym for 48 hours.

How often can I have this treatment?

Results are visible after 1 treatment, but we recommend a minimum course of 3 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart.

What should I expect after the treatment?

Immediately after, the skin may be slightly red and you may experience some tightness, this is completely normal and will dissipate within a few hours. There may be mild blood spotting or controlled trauma grid lines visible on the face, these will disappear in the days following the treatment.
